| Silver Star Skate Center has been a family entertainment institution in Mattoon and
central Illinois since the early 1930's. Founded by the original owners, John and Louise Shelids, SSSC continues
to serve the community and the area until the present day. Having undergone a complete restoration in
1996-1997, SSSC now offers a complete modern entertainment and roller sports center. Under the stewardship of
present owners Terry Carpenter, Roger Fatheree, and Chris Carpenter, Silver Star Skate Center will continue to
offer wholesome entertainment for children and families into the 21st century.
